Lakeland Lusitanos - Portrait

In 2005 the family Luginbuehl acquired their first Lusitano stallion and that is how they met Henrique Maya. From that point of time the interest in breeding and working with the beautiful Lusitano horses as well as getting to know the history of Lusitanos and the equestrian tradition of Portugal became part of their daily life. At the beginning of the year 2006 René Luginbuehl acquired two carfully selected Lusitano mares, breeded by very distinguished portuguese stud farms and descending from the best bloodlines. These two mares crossed with stallions of the Schule fuer Reitkunst (Henrique Maya) are the foundation-stone of the "Lakeland Lusitanos" stud farm.
